Prints
Here is the signed, limited cover print by Brian Bolland of the cover to our first Carol Day art book, Lance Hallam. We made less than 35 sets of these prints for Brian to sign (sometimes we think there's 32 sets, sometimes 33).
As you undoubtedly know, Brian only works digitally now, so there isn't a physical "original" for his covers for the Carol Day books, and these signed prints are as good as it gets for Bolland Carol Day art. So if you are a Bolland or Carol Day fan, you want one!
In addition to being signed, limited artwork by one the true greats in our hobby, this is a super-high quality print, done by Chicago's premier graphics printer on heavy archival paper. The sheet size is 20 5/8 x 15 3/4 inches with an image area 19 3/4 x 15 1/4 inches. Brian's lettering had to be adapted for the printed cover, so the print is slightly different from the published cover, making it a little more special.

Here is the signed, limited print by Gerhard that opened the Foreword to Jack Slingsby.
The page in Lance Hallam that brought together the wordless panels as a story summary has proved to be quite an attention getter. In the absence of DW, we asked Roger as the creator of the concept to sign some.
The sheet size is 12 x 12 inches.
We asked Mr. Hamanishi to design a bookplate that would have appealed to Carol Day and that she might have used for her personal library. He combined the red-crested crane, a traditional symbol of love and romance in Japanese culture, with a kimono hung on a stand, a favorite motif of his, to represent Carol Day's library.
If you're not familiar with mezzotint printmaking, it is perhaps the most difficult printmaking technique, and it was largely abandoned when the advent of lithography and photography provided much easier ways to reproduce tonal variation. It was revived in the late 20th century, and Mr. Hamanishi is universally considered one of the best artists in the medium in the world, responsible for many technical and aesthetic advancements. To see more of his work, we recommend the White Lotus Gallery at wlotus.com.
